NEW SUNBEAM (B1) TO IMP ENGINE CONVERSIONS

Fundamentally the same as an Imp with several advantages i.e.

(1) Better oil sealing due to a rear crank seal, as opposed to the Imp's (inefficient) oil return scroll.
(2) Stronger than the Imp due to the B1 blocks additional strengthening ribs.
(3) Conrods stronger 11/16" pin.
(4) Crankshaft material higher grade (EN16U) (Imp E9T) and 5 bolt flywheel.

930cc BUDGET ENGINE CONVERSION

New Sunbeam (BI) Block/pistons/rods. Block adapted for Imp starter motor and fitted with rear dynamo/alternator bracket. Modified new or reground Imp crank + bearings fitted with reconditioned cyl head assy, new oil pump rotors/timing chain etc.

MK2/series 4 from 800.00 ////// SPORT 850.00

930cc COMPLETE ENGINE CONVERSION

New Sunbeam block/pistons/rods/crank + flywheel. Flywheel is modified for the Imp clutch and lightened, comes complete with ring gear, Block adapted for Imp starter motor and fitted with rear dynamo/alternator bracket. Fitted with reconditioned cyl head assy, new oil pump rotors/timing chain.

MK2/series 4 from 900.00 ////// SPORT 940.00

AS ABOVE: 950cc conversion +030" oversize additional 60.00 exchange items required: timing cover, sump + head assembly.

SUNBEAM TO IMP CONVERSIONS MODIFIED FOR FAST ROAD

The same spec as for IMP fast road on page 13 using as above Sunbeam complete engine conversions

i.e. 15%-20% increase of power over standard, while still retaining relatively lower speed torque, although usable in traffic conditions but ideally suited for the open road and some minor competition events.

SUNBEAM TO IMP CONVERSIONS MODIFIED TO COMPETITION CLUBMAN SPEC

The same spec as for IMP Comp/Clubman on page 13 using as above Sunbeam complete engine conversions

i.e. 50% extra power over standard, a seriously modified engine intended to be used in competition events i.e. Sprint/Hillclimb/Rallying etc (in conjunction with twin 40 carbs) and yet still tractable enough if required for the open road.

Estimated output 988cc on twin 40 Weber carbs: 92bhp @ 6800 rpm
* (recommended max 7500 rpm)
* The advantage of using the stronger B1 block assembly is its rigidity, block strengthening would only be necessary in race state of tune.
